Training Specialist
Full-Time (40 hrs/wk) – HQ Administrative Offices

Overview: The role of the Training Specialist is to identify training requirements, develop and coordinate

suitable training programs, create training materials and resources, and deliver in-person and

virtual training for all library staff. Additionally, the Training Specialist performs administrative tasks

to support the training function. This role reports to the Deputy Director.

Hourly Pay: $22.14 (Non-Exempt)

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates with department managers to conduct training for all FCPL staff.

• Develops and implements training materials and resources to meet system-wide training needs.

• Performs other duties and special projects as requested.

Requirements:

• Minimum:

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Strong technology skills, with proficiency in all Google Workspace and Microsoft Office products, and in

use of electronic resources and electronic devices commonly used in a public library setting.

• Strong skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communications.

• Ability to effectively manage training projects.

• Strong commitment to customer service.

• Valid Georgia Driver’s License and transportation.

• Will consider other combinations of education and experience that provide the required knowledge

and skills.

• Preferred:

• Two years of experience in training, with specific experience in developing training programs,

presenting classes and programs, and creating training materials.

• Familiarity with public library operations and the services provided to patrons.

• Master’s in Library Science (MLIS); Georgia Certificate of Librarianship (grade 5 or higher).
